Pray!Skagit was founded with a vision the Lord placed in Sharon and George Eldridge’s hearts in 2006. They loved prayer and the Lord with hearts that constantly were filled with desire to serve the community by bringing churches and people together in prayer. As an organization centered in prayer and sound doctrine, we held many events in Skagit County but mostly people remember the tirelessly work that Sharon did to gather Christian leaders from around the community for the National Day of Prayer at the Court House in Mount Vernon. Sharon and George were called to Missouri to continue to serve the Lord in a new direction leaving the template to us in Pray Skagit but due to technical challenges we had to change the name to Pray Skagit!. This year we continued the Lord’s work in reaching the community in prayer meetings as well as public events such as the “National Day of Prayer”, “Skagit Praise” - a worship time in the Park, and “Flooded with Kindness” – Ministries support for flood victims, all of which allowed us to reach hundreds of people. It’s our Prayer and desire to serve God in this community however He sets forth. We long to inspire and support other ministries who long for the same service of the Lord. We are Kingdom prayer oriented and pray outwardly as we leave our own challenges at the altar and seek His Will. Standing on James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may ne healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” As well as so many others like Jeremiah 29:12, Psalms 145:18, Matthew 18:20, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:6-7 Colossians 4:2.
